Not a single dull moment in the whole game, i was sleeping on this game for longtime, i am glad i played it. This is my First final fantasy ever, I had no idea what final fantasy or ff vii is. Absolute blast.. Excellent story and combat gameplay. Side missions are just existing to increase playtime , so don't bother doing them. Now looking forward to rebirth. From what i have heard its even longer than this one … hopefully i will complete it before ff revelations arrives.. solid 9/10
The Game pretty good. I think the key is perspective: the original and the remake don’t need to compete. One is a timeless classic of turn-based RPG design, the other is a modern cinematic reinterpretation. Each offers its own way to enjoy the journey. Instead of fussing over differences, I think I will appreciate both of them. Replaying the original when I want pure nostalgia, and diving into the remake when I want to see better graphic and more action RPG style gameplay.
This game is so beautiful with a cinematic presentation, detailed environments, and anything else. No wonder the game size is absolutely insane, its almost as big as some open world games.
Great, except for the endings. Terrible endings. But I'm willing to overlook that since the game is fun and it literalizes the audience as a force of "whispers" that prevent characters from changing the "true timeline".
I played the original FF7 on psx on day 1, I was afraid of playing this given the negativity the "fans" spread all over this remake, I must say they are not fans, just fanatics. This offers a lot of different new points of view on the great story that we know and love, this will only disappoint the ones that want to replay the same exact game over and over. I'm glad I tried it, I'll play also the second and the third when it will come out.
Great reminder of the game I loved as a kid on the PS1. Combat can get a bit rough at times, but overall fun and a good change up to the story.
