How to redeem a PlayStation code

PlayStation codes are 12 characters long and work for games, PS Plus and wallet top-ups alike. Unlike Steam, PlayStation is strict about region: the code must match the country of the account, not the console.

  1. Sign in to your PlayStation account

On the console, or at store.playstation.com in a browser. The account country decides which codes work - it is set when the account is created.

  2. Open Redeem Codes

On PS5: Settings → Users and Accounts → Account → Payment and Subscriptions → Redeem Codes. On PS4 it sits in the PlayStation Store side menu.

  3. Enter the 12-character code

Enter it exactly as shown. PlayStation codes contain no dashes and are not case sensitive.

  4. Confirm and download

Content is added to your account immediately. Games appear in your library, wallet top-ups in your balance.

When something goes wrong

"The code has already been used"

If you have not redeemed it yourself, contact support with your order number - we replace codes that were dead on arrival.

"This code cannot be redeemed in your country"

Your account region does not match the code. A US code needs a US account; the console's physical location does not matter.

Questions

Does the code work on both PS4 and PS5?

Games are usually tied to the generation stated in the product title. Wallet top-ups and PS Plus work across both.

Can I use a US code on a European account?

No. You would need a separate account with that region, and the wallet is not shared between accounts.
